Data You Give Us Directly
A name, phone number, or address entered into a search form is sent to the third-party provider that supplies the result. Our own servers do not keep a copy of those searches. If you email or otherwise contact us, we receive the contents of that message and use them to respond.
Data We Gather Automatically
Hosting systems record ordinary server-log details, such as an IP address, browser type, pages requested, and time stamps. These details may be reviewed in aggregate to maintain the service and understand which Gilroy records pages are useful. Cookies or similar tools may support basic analytics and, when used, advertising measurement.
What We Do With This Data
We use the information to run the service, diagnose faults, measure traffic, and improve the pages. We do not sell visitor lists or assemble profiles about individual users.
Links to Other Websites
Gilroy research routes can lead to Santa Clara County and California records portals, library collections, archives, and third-party search tools. The privacy policy of each outside service controls what you submit there. This is especially important for sponsored results, which are provided by another company.
Who Might See Your Data
Hosting and support vendors may process server logs while they keep the service running. Analytics and advertising partners may receive the automatic data described above. We disclose information when valid legal process requires disclosure, and otherwise limit access to the purposes stated here.
How We Protect Your Data
The connection is encrypted, and logs are retained only for as long as the purposes above call for them. There are no user accounts here, so this service does not hold a password or personal profile for you to expose.
Users Under 18
Gilroy Residents Directory is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor may have sent us information, contact us and we will delete what we can identify.
California Privacy Choices
Depending on coverage and verification, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), Civil Code §§1798.100 et seq., may let a California consumer ask a covered business to know, correct, or delete personal information and to opt out of its sale or sharing. Because this service keeps very little, a request usually means checking the contact mailbox and applicable server logs. Use the Contact page to make that request.
California privacy law has an important public-record boundary. Information lawfully made available from government records is outside the CCPA definition of personal information. A request to this service cannot erase a deed, assessment record, court file, or voter record held by a public custodian. The separate California Public Records Act, Government Code §7920.000 et seq., governs requests for identifiable, nonexempt existing state and local records, and those requests belong with the agency that holds the record.
California Secretary of State Safe at Home provides an eligible participant with a substitute mailing address and confidential mail forwarding. Government Code §6208.1 limits public display of a participant's home address or telephone number after a written nondisclosure demand. A missing or substitute address may therefore be intentional. Do not use a privacy request or a public-record request to bypass Safe at Home or another protected-address rule.
